Reflecting on 2024: Gratitude, Growth, and Holiday Cheer

As we near the holiday season, our hearts are full of gratitude for a year of remarkable achievements, shared moments, and the unwavering dedication of our incredible team. At Givens Home First, we’re proud to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together in 2024:

  • Caring for Our Residents: So far this year, our Home Care team has supported more than 250 residents of Givens Estates and Givens Highland Farms, providing compassionate care and fostering independence..
  • Growing Our Team: We have welcomed more than 25 new caregivers, each bringing their own warmth and expertise to our mission.
  • Expanding Aging in Place: Julie Moses has inspired more than 230+ homes to be modified by our Aging in Place Technician, David Hock, helping residents live more safely and comfortably.
  • Embracing Change: Together, we have tackled BIG transitions—moving offices across two campuses, launching a new electronic health record, and even weathering a hurricane—always with grace and teamwork.
  • Giving Back: Instead of exchanging gifts this year, our caregivers chose to spread joy by sponsoring a child and supporting Black Mountain Home for Children. Thanks to the team’s generosity, we have raised $340 to sponsor one child and purchase a special gift for another.

A Note from Jessie Bosshard, Executive Director:

“As we reflect on this incredible year, I am struck by both the challenges we’ve faced and the extraordinary resilience, determination, and compassion that have carried us through. This was not an easy year—it required strength, flexibility, and unwavering dedication. Yet, time and again, our team and community rose to the occasion, staying true to our mission and values.

This year, we’ve touched countless lives—fostering safety, independence, and hope for our clients and making a meaningful impact on our community. These achievements are a testament to what is possible when we come together, even in the face of adversity.

As the holiday season approaches, we celebrate not only what we’ve accomplished but also the spirit of care and perseverance that defines us. Let us carry this forward into 2025, confident that together, we can continue to create a brighter, more compassionate future. Here’s to a new year of hope and possibility!”

From our home to yours, we’re wishing you a happy holiday season!
