“A dream without a plan is just a wish” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Turn your dream of aging safely at home into a reality with Givens Home First. Aging in Place is at the heart of our philosophy. We believe that staying in the place you call home can greatly enhance overall well-being and quality of life. We also understand that everyone’s journey is unique, and we recognize that one size does not fit all.
Our program is thoughtfully designed to help individuals remain safely and comfortably in their homes, where they can truly thrive. With over 20 years of experience, our Certified Aging in Place Specialists work closely with you to create personalized solutions—tailoring home modifications that prioritize safety, ease, and peace of mind. From fall prevention and kitchen safety to cognitive support and remote solutions, we help homes adapt to evolving needs, empowering you to age with grace and confidence in the place you love.
A basic assessment covers essential areas such as bed, toilet, and shower safety. A comprehensive assessment extends to the entire home, including entryways. The all-inclusive assessment goes further, addressing the entire home, surrounding outdoor areas, vehicle safety, and more.
We offer tailored solutions to enhance home safety and accessibility, including bidet installations, grab bars, transfer poles, bed modifications, toilet safety frames, shower door removals, home safety technology, and other personalized adjustments to meet your unique needs.
You don’t have to remove your rugs—we can show you how to properly secure them to prevent accidents. Grab bars aren’t ugly; in fact, there are many stylish options available, and proper placement is key for both safety and aesthetics. Bath tubs don’t always have to be dangerous either—there are a variety of devices designed to enhance safety and make bathing easier without sacrificing comfort.
Julie typically spends about an hour assessing the home environment. However, the time can vary based on the size of your home and the level of detail you’d like to cover. Our goal is to be as thorough as you need to feel confident in your space.
Every home is unique. We offer a flat fee for the Home Safety Assessment, and any recommended modifications are priced separately at an agreed-upon rate. Contact us for more details and to schedule your assessment.
Absolutely! We encourage a comfortable and supportive environment, and having family or friends present can be helpful. They often provide valuable insights and perspectives, and we’re happy to include them in the process however you’d like.
