To ensure clients receive the most appropriate care, a Givens Home First team member will conduct an initial assessment and ongoing evaluations, as required by the State of North Carolina. From a few hours of companionship each week to 24-hour care, Givens Home First provides personalized support that helps our clients remain safe, independent, and engaged in the place they call home.
Our caregivers provide hands-on support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to help clients maintain dignity, comfort, and independence. Services may include:

We work alongside hospice and palliative care providers to ensure care is coordinated, comfortable, and centered on each individual’s wishes. Services may include companionship, personal care, respite for family caregivers, and 24-hour support when needed.

To begin services, a Givens Home First registered nurse completes an in-home assessment. There is no cost for Givens residents; for individuals living in the broader community, an assessment fee applies and will be discussed prior to scheduling.
Our team will partner with you to design a plan of care that meets your unique needs. Home Care is paid out of pocket, though many Long Term Care Insurance plans contribute. If you are a Givens resident, your social worker can review your policy to determine eligibility.
Once the plan of care has been designed, it will be time to welcome us into your home!
As required by the State of North Carolina, all Home Care clients must be reassessed every 90 days (or when needs change) to review and refine the care plan.

Our Home Care services are billed at an hourly rate, enabling our clients to select the level of support that suits their budget and requirements. Additionally, long-term care insurance plans may contribute towards the cost, further easing the financial burden.
